Deschutes Children’s Foundation's Annual Art & Wine Auction is one of Central Oregon’s premiere events of the year and the largest of its kind in Central Oregon. This year’s event will take place Friday, May 9th at 5:30PM. The festivities include luscious wine tastings, spectacular art, live music and an oral and live auction with seated dinner. This is the major fundraiser for Deschutes Children’s Foundation. The Foundation does not take any tax dollars and solely relies on the local community for support. Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company, SELCO Community Credit Union, The Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center, The Bulletin, Horizon Broadcasting Group, A & E and KOHD News are just a few of the major sponsors of this event.
Artwork from Central Oregon’s most brilliant artists will be featured in the oral auction along with prized wines and exciting trips such as a getaway to Jamaica! The large silent auction will include unique items and packages, crafts and functional pieces of art as well as wines and gift certificates.
This year’s Signature Artist is Tracy Leagjeld. Tracy was born and raised in Central Oregon. She has completed many workshops by Nationally Known Artists and received her Associate of Arts Degree from Central Oregon Community College. Tracy says her art is a way to communicate and share with others her love and reverence for nature. Tracy strives to create paintings and prints that allow the viewer to put themselves into the painting and feel the spirit of the place.
