A new addition to Bend’s west side is under construction! The 3,100 square foot addition to the current location at the Rosie Bareis Community Campus is closer to completion and currently three weeks ahead of production schedule! Check back often for up to date construction photos.
“This additional space will allow us to double the number of children we are able to serve for evaluation and other vital medical services for children suspected of being abused. The addition will also allow for other program expansions. As unfortunate as it may be, the communities of Central Oregon are in desperate need of these expanded services,” said Beth Patterson, Operations Manager, KIDS Center.
The KIDS Center addition is just one of two new buildings that will be a result of the $3.9 M Deschutes Children’s Foundation “Better Together Capital Campaign.”
The second building will be a new 13,000 square foot facility that will house nine nonprofits that serve children and families including Mountain Star Relief Nursery located at the Deschutes Children’s Foundation East Bend Campus located on Daggett Lane.
“We are glad to be able to build permanent community assets that will help facilitate the work of nonprofit organizations to expand their reach to more children and families, providing efficient, effective services. This project is now becoming a reality, “said Bruce DeKock, Chair, Board of Directors, Deschutes Children’s Foundation.
