New Executive Director Hired
Deschutes Children’s Foundation has hired Kim McNamer as its next Executive Director. McNamer has been Director of External Relations for the School of Social Work at Portland State University. Prior to that she worked for The Oregon Zoo Foundation, Providence Health and Services and The Christie School. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and holds an advanced certificate in nonprofit development from Portland State University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management. McNamer will succeed DCF’s long-term Executive Director, Jan Eggleston, around mid-November.
Deschutes Children’s Foundation is a nonprofit that helps support other nonprofits serving children and families in Central Oregon. Its primary means of doing so is by providing rent-free space and facility management at its four collaborative campuses.
DCF recently completed construction of a major addition to the KIDS Center at its Rosie Bareis Community Campus, and a large new building at its East Bend Campus. These were the result of its $4.1M “Better Together” capital campaign. The organization also operates the Becky Johnson Community Center in Redmond and the La Pine Community Campus. Twenty-seven different nonprofits offer services from the four campuses, where close to 70,000 client visits occurred in 2008.
