Deschutes Children’s
Foundation has always been a partner with Deschutes Brewery and Gary Fish in
this endeavor, with the original funds from the Classic going directly to DCF,
paying off the mortgage at its Rosie Bareis Community Campus in 1998. Since
then, Sagebrush Classic funds have been distributed to over 40 organization,
giving back more than two million dollars to organizations serving children and
families in Central Oregon.
Last year, the RFP focused on organizations that had been
hit hard by the economic crisis and were in need of straight operational
support. While we realize the struggle for raising operational support
continues throughout our community, the review committee has decided to open
the process back up to all organizations in need, regardless of whether it is
for operational or specific programs.
You are invited to send a funding proposal to my
attention. Proposed uses of funds must
serve children and families in Central Oregon.
A committee will decide grant recipients and may fund proposals in full
or in part. The committee reserves the right to assess how the funds will build
on the stability of the organization overall and most importantly the impact of
the funds will have on children and families in Central Oregon.
Proposals
must be received at the DCF office located at 1010 NW 14th St.,
Bend, 97701, or by email to: kim@deschuteschildrensfoundation.org, or by fax at 541-383-2540, by noon on Friday, July 30.
They
may be no longer than five pages excluding a cover letter and financials, one
side each, in a readable font and type size.
You can adjust table boxes as needed. Proposals must be complete to be considered. Funds may be allocated in any manner deemed
acceptable by the selection committee.
By
submitting a proposal organizations agree that, should their request be funded
in whole or in part, their name may be used to help promote the event.
This
is a wonderful opportunity for funding at the local level without a long,
arduous proposal process. Deschutes
Children’s Foundation is proud to be part of helping distribute Sagebrush
Classic proceeds for the benefit of children and families in Central Oregon.
