Founded by Gary Fish of Deschutes Brewery, the Sagebrush Classic charitable fundraising event is an incredible experience in golf and culinary artistry. Held at the Broken Top Club with a backdrop of the stunning Cascade Mountain range, Sagebrush Classic is not to be missed. The event begins on Friday with an amateur best-ball golf tournament. The celebration continues on Saturday with The Sagebrush Classic Feast, the premiere culinary, social, charity event of the year, featuring visiting national and international world-class chefs.
Now entering its eighteenth year, Sagebrush Classic proceeds historically supported Deschutes Children's Foundation exclusively, earmarked for mortgage payments at the Rosie Bareis Community Campus. In 1998 after paying off the mortgage five years early, we celebrated with a mortgage burning ceremony.
After this momentous occasion, for the first time in 1999 Deschutes Children's Foundation solicited letters of interest from local groups to request funding from Sagebrush Classic. Now each year Deschutes Children’s Foundation serves as a grant maker, disbursing funds raised at the event to other non-profit organizations that serve children and families in Deschutes County. To date over $600,000 has been distributed. |

Deschutes Children’s Foundation also continues to benefit from this unique business/nonprofit partnership. Encouraged by the vision of the Sagebrush founder, Deschutes Children’s Foundation now contributes its portion of Sagebrush Classic proceeds into an endowment fund, an important element in building sustainability for the organization.
