Amanda Miko

Amanda, a California native, moved to Bend in July 2009 from Sacramento where she worked as a mentor and coach for 24 Hour Fitness. Prior to that, she worked in sales and marketing for several newspaper publications. She received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism-Public Relations from The University of Nevada. Amanda got her first taste for nonprofits when she interned and volunteered for Planned Parenthood, Mar Monte in college. She saw firsthand the importance of the organization’s role in the community and now hopes to utilize her Marketing and PR background to help facilitate the vision and goals of DCF.

Amanda joined the DCF board in February 2012. “I look at this as a great opportunity to use my professional experience on a collaborative board to raise both dollars and awareness for such a worthy cause.”

“Deschutes Children’s Foundation’s model is very unique. It’s a way to be involved with one organization, but actually help and affect 26 other agencies.”
