Deschutes children's foundation announces new executive director

The Deschutes Children’s Foundation Board of Directors announced the promotion of Amy Ward to Executive Director starting October 10, 2016. Ward has worked as Development Director at the organization since 2013, and has over thirteen years’ experience in nonprofit management. “As our Development Director, Amy has continued to develop impactful relationships with donors, community members and partners. The board is looking forward to her continued commitment to DCF as well as what the future holds for the organization with her leadership,” said board chair Amanda Miko. “This transition is an opportunity to create a new strategic plan and determine our future goals and priorities.”

“This is an exciting professional opportunity,” said Ward. “Our business model is unique to our area – we provide critical infrastructure to support 22 nonprofits who help children and families. I’m looking forward to working more closely with our partners and also sharing our message to the broader community.”

The twenty six year old organization has also revised their organizational structure by promoting Christine Bond to the new position of Operations Director. Bond will oversee the facility managers at each community campus. “We believe this new structure will increase efficiencies at each of our four community campuses and allow us to better serve the nonprofits who operate in our spaces,” said Ward. “I’ve enjoyed working with Christine since she was hired in 2015. I’m certain she’ll thrive in this new, expanded roll.”

Deschutes Children’s Foundation will hire a part time Development and Events Associate to support the Executive Director in executing the annual fundraising plan, including their signature event, the Art & Wine Auction.

Amy Ward replaces Kim McNamer who has been Executive Director since 2009. “Kim’s leadership at Deschutes Children’s Foundation has been a tremendous asset to the organization. We wish her great success in her future endeavors and adventures,” said Miko.

Founded in 1990 to create a central location for children and families to access services, Deschutes Children’s Foundation gives nonprofits the space to achieve their individual missions. Through the facility management program, Deschutes Children’s Foundation lifts the oppressive burden of operating expense, allowing their partners to operate at great efficiency and less expense. 

DeSCHUTES CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY!

The Deschutes Children's Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Silver Anniversary Celebration. Over the last 25 years, DCF has created a safe, welcoming environment where nonprofits help children and families. Through our combined programs of rent free classroom and office space and no-cost facility management, Deschutes Children's Foundation has been helping local organizations operate lean budgets and streamline their expenses since 1990.

To celebrate this milestone, the organization has unveiled a new logo and website. Celebrations are planned throughout the year.
